OUTAGE Fault: Inspire Wireless ***Update 24/10/25 8.49am***
Hi everyone,
Our Network Team has identified a known outage affecting one of our sites on the Ruahine Ranges due to last night’s weather. Our technicians are already on their way to repair the equipment, and we’re hoping to have it back up and running later this morning.
If you’re currently without internet, feel free to call us on 0800 484 363 to check whether your connection is affected by this outage.
We apologise for the disruption and appreciate your patience while we get this resolved.

Network Update – Weather Impact - 23/10/25 - 4PM

The extreme weather has caused an issue with one of our main Inspire Rural Wireless network links. We’re routing traffic a different way overnight while repairs are planned for tomorrow.

Customers on our Inspire Net Rural Wireless service in Kimbolton, Pohangina, Ashhurst, and Eketahuna may notice slower speeds this evening. We’re running at about 25% less capacity than usual, so things should still work, just a bit slower at busy times.

Some areas may not notice much impact as power outages have reduced overall demand.

Our Inspire Net Webmail will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes from 11pm on Wednesday the 24th of September so we can update the server. This will only affect access to Webmail. If you use Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, or a mobile mail app, sending and receiving email will continue to work as normal.

We’re currently experiencing an issue with a large wireless tower in the Whanganui area, which has resulted in some Inspire Net Wireless customers going offline. Our network team is aware of the problem and will be onsite tomorrow morning to carry out repairs.

OUTAGE Fault: Inspire Wireless We’re currently experiencing a wireless service issue across parts of the Manawatū–Whanganui region.

A large number of our access points (APs) unexpectedly changed frequencies overnight, due to wireless interference across the area.

Our Network Operations Centre (NOC) is actively working on the issue by reconfiguring the affected APs. This process is underway and may take some time to complete.

If you're affected:
Give our helpdesk a call (0800 484 363) and we can walk you through rebooting your Subscriber Unit ( Aerial located on your property).

Hi Everyone,

We’ll be doing some maintenance on our email system early Sunday morning (1st June), from midnight until 6:00am.

During this time:
* You won’t be able to receive or read new emails.
* Any emails sent to you during this time might be delayed, but they should arrive once everything is back to normal.
* You may still be able to send emails, but we recommend waiting until after the maintenance is complete just to be safe.

OUTAGE Fault: Other We are experiencing issues currently due to a DDos attack on our network. Our Network Team are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution as we speak.

Our best method for communicating out to everyone is via our Facebook page. Please check there for updates as well.

Our Network Team have successfully mitigated the issue for the time being. General web surfing should be back to normal thankfully.
Due to some of the changes we have had to make to get around the DDos however, some services such as email (receiving emails from international locations), domains and other interactions with our DNS servers, may still be affected.

No news is good news!
We haven’t experienced any further attacks. Rest assured our technicians will continue monitoring services around the clock. Additionally, our backup helpdesk agents are on standby to assist should another incident occur.
