We are currently dealing with considerable packet loss to international destinations. Connection attempts to international websites and other servers may be slow or timing out. Our technicians are working on the problem.
UPDATE: Excessive traffic destined for a downstream provider in a probable denial of service attack caused outages on our international link. This has been resolved.
UFB Fibre Fault in Palmerston North

There is currently an outage on our MetroLAN network. Our Network Operations Team are working to identify and repair the problem. Ultrafast Broadband - Fibre Cut in Whanganui

There has been a fibre cut to the main building that houses our equipment for providing Ultra Fast Fibre services in the Whanganui Area. Technicians are heading out to fix the problem. At this stage there is no ETR. *** UPDATE *** Technicians have restored service.

We had a bit of trouble with an upgrade to our mail service last night. POP3 mail is working normally but IMAP and Webmail will be down until around 5pm today. Sorry for the inconvenience. Whanganui Area MetroLAN fault

There is currently a power related issue with one of our Whanganui sites which is causing an outage for customers in the area. We have top men on it now. **Update** Most connections have been rerouted around the troublesome equipment. A small number of connections will still be down.**Update** The fault has been resolved, please let us know if you are still experiencing connection issues.
Webhost 7 Down

One of our webhosts is currently down. Any site hosted on Webhost 7 will not be reachable. Our technicians are working on the issue.
UPDATE -- The host has been recovered temporarily. There will be an outage of around 30 minutes tonight between 11pm and 1am as we move the webhost onto more permanent and stable hardware.

Whanganui MetroLAN Down

There is currently a power issue with our main backhaul connection in Whanganui. All MetroLAN connections in that area are down. We are working with local technicians to resolve the problem.

MetroLAN Wireless outage in Whanganui

We are presently suffering an outage on our MetroLAN wireless outage in at least some parts of Whanganui. Wireless technicians are looking into it now.
UPDATE -- Fault was due to equipment in the Whanganui area no longer passing user data. This has been rectified.
Outage Last Night

Last night at around 6:35pm an important network element developed an issue and required restarting. All customers would have lost connectivity for 30-40 minutes. We have identified the issue and will be able to implement a fix to prevent it from reoccuring. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this outage.

There is currently a major MetroLAN Wireless outage caused by a fault in one of our central access points. Technicians are furiously riding quad bikes to get there and resolve the issue. ***UPDATE*** The issue has been resolved.

We are currently experiencing performance degradation on our DSL service. DSL customers will be experiencing slower than usual performance especially during peak times. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible.
MetroLAN Fault in Palmerston North Area

A fault at a central wireless site near Palmerston North early this morning caused a major MetroLAN outage. This would have affected Ohakea, Himatangi Beach and some customers south of Palmerston North. Service was restored at approximately 9:30 this morning.

Fibre cable in Nelson cut.

A main fibre connection in Nelson which provides connectivity to Blenheim was cut. This effected MetroLAN and Inspire Voice customers in the area. Technicians attended and resolved the issue by 1:30am.

Outage North of Wanganui

We have lost connectivity with equipment from Wanganui northward. Customers may be unable to connect. We are looking into the problem and expect a resolution within half an hour.
UPDATE -- This has been resolved. The locked-up equipment at Taihape was successfully contacted and rebooted.
Mail access problems

We have some lingering server problems due to a hiccup on the data storage for
our virtual machines. Among other things this may have caused problems with
IMAP and POP mail services, including webmail. If you are still having issues
connecting to your mail at this point please try closing and re-opening your
email program (e.g. Outlook, Windows Live Mail).
Monitoring has been updated to alert us to this particular problem immediately in future.
