What is the InSPire Net Dial-Up Service?

If you want an Internet connection that isn’t always on and with moderate speed, one of our InSPire Net Dial-Up plans could be right for you. They are affordable and easy to use, but require a modem and a telephone line. Unlike the InSPire Net Fast Internet Access services, Dial-Up ties up your telephone line so that you cannot talk over it and access the Internet at the same time.

Speeds for InSPire Net Dial-Up Service vary according to the type of modem used as well as the quality of the telephone line. If there are none or just a few impediments on the telephone line and you are not too far from the exchange, speeds of 50 to 52Kbit/s for downloading, and between 28.8 to 33.6Kbit/s for uploading are the best modems will achieve.

However, if you’re a long way from the exchange, and the telephone line itself is old, your results may not be so good. InSPire Net’s help desk technicians can organise a line test for you, if you need it. Our technicians can also help to some degree with connection problems.
