The following settings will allow you to set up your computer up for email and web browsing.  Do not hesitate to call the help line for assistance at 0800 4 THE NET or 357 8559  for local calling customers.

Email and Web Browsing

Dial-up Number: 086721212
Incoming Mail Server: pop3.inspire.net.nz
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.inspire.net.nz
Username: the first part of your email address, for example, 'joebloggs' if your email address was joebloggs@inspire.net.nz

DNS Servers

This information is only relevant for Jetstream connections and other broadband services:

Primary DNS Server: 203.114.128.1
Secondary DNS Server: 203.114.128.2
User Names:

When using a Bitstream account, your username for your connection is in the format: (note the 'dsl' after joebloggs).

When using a Jetstream account, your username for your connection is in the format: joebloggsdsl@adsl.inspire.net.nz (note the 'dsl' after joebloggs).

SMTP Auth

Authenticated SMTP is now available from Inspire Net. This is a very useful setting if you use more than 1 ISP, or are commonly using your laptop from WIFI hotspots, or with a datacard.

Hostname: smtpauth.inspire.net.nz
Port: 25 or 465
